I have a black and white cat called Sam and he means the world to me, I’m not on my own and many of us love our pets, they provide comfort and love, but what happens to them after we have died?

The law treats pets as “chattels” instead of the living, breathing companions who live with us and we need to think about the arrangements for them after we have died.  In a way, it’s like making arrangements for a young child, you need to arrange for someone to look after them and to provide money to enable them to do this, food and vet’s bills can mount up.

When you make your Will, we can discuss these very important matters and a legal framework can then be set up to look after your pet after you’ve passed away.

I look forward to hearing all about your cat, dog, tortoise or other pet who shares your life!
